CATS
CATS is a powerful analysis
system for Natural and Technological disasters. CATS includes hazard
prediction, data creation, data management and analysis models for data fusion
analysis that supports disaster and other emergency management.
BEFORE disaster strikes
- Create realistic
scenarios for training and planning.
- Create
contingency plans with CATS comprehensive population and infrastructure data.
- Track forecast hurricane and
storm surge damage.
WHEN disaster strikes
- Assess the affected
population quickly and accurately.
- Assess
hurricane and storm surge damage from current NHC reports.
- Assess damage from
earthquake, tidal surge, explosive device, industrial agent release, or
weapons of mass destruction.
- Reduce response
timelines.
- Determine roadblock
locations and exclusion zones for safe routing of responders and victims.
AFTER
disaster strikes
- Assess needs and locate
resources for a sustained response.
- Obtain information for
reporting, damage assessment, and lessons learned.
- Obtain support for
remediation and compensation.
CATS
Features
The Consequences
Assessment Tool Set (CATS) provides a comprehensive package of hazard prediction
models (natural
hazards and
technological hazards) and casualty and damage assessment tools. CATS also accepts
real-time data from local meteorological stations.
Run CATS out of
the box, using a wide variety of databases and map layers. CATS controls access
to multiple data sources, leveraging data in personal and enterprise-level
geodatabases. Search for data on your own terms with user-provided, custom
metadata to manage large data resources. Create custom data quickly with CATS
tools to respond to unique and rapidly changing situations. Create custom
consequence reports that support your SOP. Provide course of action support,
including placement of roadblocks. Share analysis results with other CATS users
and with web applications, such as Incident Management Systems.
Developed for the Defense
Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),
CATS is now available to Federal, State, and local government emergency response
organizations nationwide.
